Partition Museum collaborates with Sehgal Private Collection
Amar Nath Sehgal was born in 1922, Pre- partition India in the region of present-day Pakistan. He, like a million others was a victim of the Indian Partition. His art hence has been a reflection of his personal experience. On this occasion, the two museums joined hands to honour the man who once was a refugee who had to rebuild his life. We are proud to have initiated The Amar Nath Sehgal Oral History Project.
The project is focused on collecting stories of tragedy as well as humanity from survivors and their families. The intention is to document stories of hope, resilience and overcoming the trauma of the largest forced migration ever. Sehgal was one of the few million who were affected.
